the Ghost town woodworks idea is to recycle barnwood, pallet, corral and discarded wood. leaving the weathered edges to accent the piece.

I lived in the ghost town of la ventana, nm

this is where the idea for the artwork came from. I saw so much wood wasting away, just waiting to be reborn.

This barnwood was rescued from an attic in Flatrock, MI. Nail stains, holes, and color changes add a lot of character.

The piece was turned on a lathe and tooled by hand. It made the sound of a large propeller as it revolved at 300 rpm's. The slowest speed I could get the machine to turn without vibrating.

The piece is 35 inches tall and 11.75 inches wide.

The piece is 36 inches tall and 36 inches wide. This depends on the spacing between the 3 pieces when you hang the artwork.
